Our Policies
Our Correction and Feedback Policy
For any content published on Dogrula.org, correction requests and feedback can be made via the ‘contact form’ method. (Except for requests that force the principles of impartiality and objectivity to be abused) For feedback, the visitor must fill out the contact form in the ‘about us’ section completely and clearly state the correction request or feedback. If the original publication in which the error was made is not editable, we will publish the correction in the same format and channel as the original.
If an error is material, i.e. fundamentally alters the results of the investigation or is a clear deviation from the operation’s methodology and policies, the correction will include accurate information as well as an explanation of the circumstances that led to the error.
When new information is added to a publication, an update note in the same publication indicates this. The Dogrula.org request review process takes place in 2 stages. Dogrula.org responds to correction or feedback forms within 15 days.
We encourage feedback and are grateful to everyone who takes the trouble to get in touch and help improve our content.
3 basic criteria
- Firstly, we must preserve our independence. Therefore, if the importance and courtesy we attach to feedback, opinions and suggestions are abused, or if our verification content is taken in ways that undermine our principles, such feedback will not be responded to.
- Second, we must balance the time we spend corresponding with people one-on-one with the time we spend serving the wider community.
- Third, we want to make sure that we are providing people with the most accurate information from the most powerful sources, so we will not hesitate to make any corrections that we think will make our content better quality.

Triage
Dogrula.org’s social media and communication officer is responsible for the parsing and pre-control process of content feedback. The responsible person checks the feedback on a daily basis. They divide the forms into two pools: ‘correction requests’ and ‘opinions and suggestions’. Here, the forms to be returned via e-mail are also separated. First, we respond to the requests and opinions in the pool with an e-mail emphasizing how valuable the opinions of our followers are to us, stating that their requests are being reviewed and that we will respond as soon as possible.
Evaluating, Correcting, Responding
In the second stage, correction emails are submitted to the editor-in-chief for review on the first day of each week. The editor-in-chief forwards the correction requests to the editors of the requested content for review. If a correction is deemed necessary, it is clearly indicated in the content. The email is responded to in this way, with the updated content. If no correction is deemed necessary, the e-mail is clearly returned to the e-mail ‘with the reason’. (A weekly summary of the corrections made on Dogrula.org is published regularly.) Opinions, suggestions and complaints are responded to with an e-mail with the theme ‘we take into account’ in a language that will not cause controversy. (Requests, opinions and complaints that would harm the corporate identity, brand value and all principles of Dogrula.org are not responded to, these e-mails are stored in the database.) In addition, all feedback made through our contact form is automatically saved in a database.
Denunciation
Dogrula.org users can report content they are suspicious of to the editor. For these reports, we recommend email, WhatsApp, Telegram and social media channels.
Before reporting content, we recommend that you review our claim selection criteria. In summary, we prioritize reports covering crisis, disaster, pandemic and election process. On the other hand, the extent to which the content that needs to be verified will benefit citizens is also one of the reasons for prioritization.
Report to IFCN
Doğrula.org is inspected as an IFCN signatory. To report to IFCN about our content or methodology, click here to access the IFCN complaints page, where you can fill out the form to report.
